An exceptional late 18th-century Continental, likely South German, Walnut chest of drawers, showcasing elegantly proportioned serpentine-fronted silhouette. The overhanging, conforming top features a striking configuration of two large, mirrored geometric parquetry panels arranged with diamond motifs in stained ebony stringing, finely framed by cross banded walnut borders. The frontrails are cross banded in laburnum . The three long drawers, each intricately faced with matching parquetry panels which are divided by narrow cross banded fruitwood that beautifully accentuates the sweeping curve.The drawers retain a suite of traditional brass ring pull handles and central decorative escutcheons.
