A stylish German Mid-Century Modern reading lamp, ca. 1950s, executed in polished brass. The design is characterised by its elegant, minimalist proportions and sculptural architectural form.The lamp has a substantial circular, stepped and slightly domed brass base, supporting a tall, slender stem. The stem rises to an angled articulated arm, which sweeps upwards and outwards before terminating in a conical natural linen shade (top ring 6cm, bottom ring 40 cm, height 16 cm).The new shade was custom-made for the lamp and is included in the price. The height can be adjusted from 140 cm to 160 cm in height. The lamp has been rewired , PAT tested and fitted with an UK plug. The brass base has some wear and tear due to its age and use.
